This is Shortcake's attempt to ensure she and Santa eat something other than cookies and sweets during December. So they shall eat fruit and cheese.
Today was Operation Happy Child, when Macy's brings underprivileged children to the store, feeds them breakfast, invites them to visit Santa, and gives them toys. This year the kids got a hat, a book, a teddy bear and a toy of their own choosing. Sample toys were basketball sets and a pop up game or a princess set. Shortcake read a few of the books to Santa. Are You a Snail? was the first one. Turns out, Santa is not a snail. He has two legs and more than one foot. He is not covered in slime, nor is he afraid of foxes or thrushes. (What does the fox say?) Shortcake next read a story about Boris the cat who gets mailed all over the solar system, Boris and the Snoozebox. It's okay, Boris ends up with Grandma Flapjacks. Shortcake then read a story about a lion in a zoo named Shirley Williamson. Okay, she skimmed it. Something about a lion who made all the other lions jealous and a zookeeper named Seymour, and then Shirley the lion escaped, but eventually she came back to the zoo.
Spatula made snickerdoodle cookies. Shortcake ate too many of them.
This is Spatula with her teddy bear, Franklin. He has many more names, Franklin Francis III possibly. Something like that. Shortcake will get back to you. Shortcake named her teddy bear Benedict Watson Cumberbear. He's sitting in the Strawboss chair, 'cause he's with a Strawboss.
