You would think the first Monday in December would be calm. You would be wrong. At least this year.
The day started by trying to figure out the special events. Santa had two events today - a news crew at Macy's and a hospital visit in Long Island. While Santa long ago mastered the art of being in two places at once, the elves have not. We had to figure out which elves to send, what time each event was happening... We had a calendar, but our calendar was outdated. So we spent a good half hour just figuring that out.
Then it was busy. On a Monday. The first Monday in December. Really? How did that happen? No one knows. There were a LOT of babies, and not all of them were happy to see Santa. A little six month old came to see Santa dressed in a red Santa suit, and he did not want to wear his hat. He kept trying to pull it off, and then he pulled on Santa's beard.
A man, came to see Santa. He wanted a picture of Santa and Mrs. Claus, and he brought two cameras. He also brought coloring books to give to underprivileged kids, which was very sweet.
The clock-in computers went down today. The whole floor lost them. Here's Gingersnap trying to fix the one in Santa's room:
She couldn't get it, so Shortcake had to just write down on a piece of paper when her lunch was. So old school.
